.vantronix is an innovative vendor in the networking and IT-security
market with customers running critical networks with the highest
levels of availability and confidentiality. If you're interested in
joining our sales team to apply your technical knowledge and
experience, your communication skills and have interest in
contributing to develop our business and to design and implement
solutions directly with our customers, this is the position you're
looking for.
As a Technical Sales Consultant your main goal will be to increase
sales and conversion rates through technical deal qualification. You
will train and equip customers, partners and sales force with the
required technical knowledge to understand and use the technical
benefits & features of the .vantronix solutions. This includes but is
not limited to the following activities:
- Provide technical information and knowledge in the sales process considering the specific customer needs and the targeted segment.
- Answer technical requirements of customer requests for proposal (RFPs).
- Coordinate with partners and the .vantronix sales, support, and development teams to get appropriate technical results.
- Prepare technical presentations including sales aspects and unique value propositions.
- Test, benchmark and compare .vantronix and 3rd party products in lab environments to create technical sales and marketing information.
- Transfer knowledge to channel partners to enable partner driven technical sales engagement.
- Train and equip partners and customers to become .vantronix certified professionals and do trainings targeting the specific customer needs.
- Attend marketing activities and represent .vantronix technically on business events, fairs and road shows.
- Work with the development and technical support teams to identify and evaluate product requirements, issues and optimizations.
- Work with our key alliance partner HP and especially HP Networking to sell and implement joint solutions.
- Work with international partners and customers in EMEA, APJ and AMS - remotely via mail and conference calls and locally during occasional business trips; your main office location will be in Hannover, Germany.
A deep technical understanding in the networking and IT-security area,
basic knowledge of channel-driven sales processes, and the capability
to extend your skills by learning and adopting new technologies will
be your main requirements. Specifically, you need to:
- Provide proven experience in networking, firewalling or routing with an appropriate level of qualifying work experience or a network vendor certification.
- Understand networking from layer 1 to 7, specifically Ethernet, TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6, and routing protocols like OSPF or BGP.
- Have knowledge about stateful firewalling and security requirements in corporate or governmental networks.
- Show experiences with data centers and professional IT environments.
- Actively use and understand BSD, Linux or UNIX systems and provide an appropriate level of experience with POSIX-compliant shell environments.
- Have social skills and the willingness to work with customers and partners.
- Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time; travel by car, plane or train.
- Speak and write English fluently.
It is desired that you already have or develop the following skills, as they will be needed on a daily or regular basis in your position:
- Knowledge about HP Networking (ProCurve/E-Series), HP ProLiant, Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint or similar vendor products.
- Good experience with .vantronix products or the OpenBSD operating system and the Packet Filter pf.
- Sales experience and a reference of talks and technical presentations.
- Maintain your network of technical contacts with customers and partners.
- Speak and write German and other languages.
